MONUMENT VALLEY HEALTH CLINIC EXPANSION

Client: Utah Navajo Health System

Location: Monument Valley, Utah

Size: 24,505 SF

The existing facility at Monument Valley Utah was constructed in 2006-2007 by the Utah Navajo Health System. The clinic serves the immediate community by providing outpatient clinic services, Dental, Laboratory, Imaging, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, and Behavioral Health. The owner, UNHS, wanted to expand their clinic services to include additional examination and treatment rooms within their outpatient clinic, add additional operatories within the Dental Department, and expand their Administrative Areas to include more meeting and office spaces.

During the programming phase in which Dyron Murphy looked at the entire operations at the facility and interviewed the staff, it was determined that there were other deficiencies that should be addressed. The scope was increased to include the expansion of the Pharmacy, Imaging Suite, Laboratory, Behavioral Health, Patient Registration, and Staff Break facilities. Additional staff parking was added at the back of the facility and finally, it was decided to completely redesign the parking lot in the front of the facility due to its less-than-optimal configuration. Outdoor waiting areas were also added to accommodate patient waiting preferences. Many of the existing finishes throughout the facility were also showing their age so most all surfaces were given a facelift. The completed facility performs far more efficiently with approximately 50% more space.

This will be the 3rd facility that Dyron Murphy Architects has designed for this client.
