Phase II of the Navajo Nation Department of Youth Center includes the design and construction of a new multi-purpose youth facility as well as other enhancements to Phase I development including playground equipment and artificial turf installations at ball fields.

The Fort Defiance Multipurpose Youth Center includes offices for youth counselors and staff; activity, fitness and technology rooms; a food court and full size gymnasium, as well as a covered picnic and cookout area. The services offered by the department include health promotion, cultural education, job training, sports and recreation, and life skills education.

The center is a single story, steel and masonry construction, with a high grade thermo polyolefin membrane roof system, exterior insulation finish system, multi-colored interior design and materials, HVAC system, fire suppression system, metal doors and windows, and includes a fully equipped gymnasium with retractable bleacher seating.
