Dyron Murphy Architects, P.C. (DMA) is excited to announce the commencement of the highly-anticipated renovation project for the Jack Candelaria Community Center Building. The groundbreaking ceremony, held yesterday, 12/5, marks the beginning of a transformative phase that promises to expand the boxing area and enhance the existing multi-purpose room and basketball gym with new equipment throughout.
This project, led by The City of Albuquerque, entails not only the expansion of the current facilities but also the revitalization of key areas within the community center, including the lobby which will include a timeline of New Mexico boxing history.
The analysis of circulation and layouts has resulted in strategic improvements aimed at maximizing the functionality of the space, ensuring a seamless and enhanced experience for users.
“We are excited to embark on this groundbreaking journey that symbolizes our commitment to providing state-of-the-art facilities for our community. The Jack Candelaria Building has long been a hub for boxing, fitness and community engagement, and this renovation project is set to take it to new heights. It also aims to empower the younger generation, providing them with opportunities to use these upgraded facilities to improve their lives and foster personal growth” said Oscar Tovar, Senior Project Manager at DMA.
The City, DMA and the community looks forward to the completion of this transformative project, which promises to be a sign of progress, inclusivity, and modernity in our city.
