Dyron Murphy Architects, P.C. provided design and construction administration services for the Santo Domingo Head Start Facility facility. The facility serves approximately 215 students from Santo Domingo Pueblo. It includes thirteen fully furnished classrooms, two infant care rooms with nursing and sleeping areas, a state-of-the-art media center, a fully equipped commercial kitchen with multi-purpose dining room, administrative offices, including a conference room and staff lounge, a home visitors room, a therapy room with separate viewing room, a health and nutrition office, and four program offices. The building was designed and constructed with many sustainable materials.
Other features integrated in and around this facility include: ultra-high energy efficient heating and cooling system, the latest in electrical gear and components, high tech voice and data communications system, and full cover, security alarm and monitoring system. Visitors and staff of this building enjoy enhanced plumbing fixtures and restroom facilities, the water treatment system, and the technologically advanced waste water treatment system. Students who attend this facility enjoy two incredible playgrounds with climbing structures and soft landing surfaces as well as the several large and out-of-the-ordinary canopy shade structures.
